DONAU CITY

Vienna Waterfront – DC Tower and Donau City

The DC Tower designed by Dominique Perrault is the tallest building in Austria and part of Donau City, which has been taking shape since 1996 between UNO City and the River Danube.

The basis for developing this area is an urban master plan conceived in 1991/92 by the architects Adolf Krischanitz and Heinz Neumann. The objective was to build a new, multifunctional city quarter.

Located on one of Vienna’s most important urban development axes and designed by numerous well-known architect offices, the site is organised on three functional levels.

Gracing the skyline of the shimmering southeast facade along the Danube, DC Tower is the latest building in a series of spectacular projects of varying sizes in this area and an imposing landmark on the axis between St. Stephen’s Cathedral and UNO City.
